Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Evidence gathered against a Rochester man awaiting trial on criminal sexual conduct and other charges in the Olmsted County Jail has been used to charge him in another case.

20-year-old David Ray Servin has been held in the adult detention center since last November, when he was charged with sexually assaulting a young girl he met through social media. A new criminal complaint filed against Servin on Friday alleges he sexually assaulted another girl who was identified as a potential victim after a Rochester Police Department detective discovered the jail detainee was allegedly using jail tablets to send and receive messages from minor females.

The third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge alleges one of the juveniles was a 16-year-old girl, who Servin allegedly encouraged to send him "provocative" photos after instructing her on how to defeat a software system designed to block such images. The court document says, during a monitored communication with the girl in early March, Servin's message to the victim read, "I loved watching our tapes."

The charges allege the communications from the jail included references to a 3 year long relationship that began when the girl was 14 years old. The investigator used the information to obtain a search warrant for the victim's cell phone. According to the criminal complaint, the victim disclosed that that there were videos stored on the device of her and Servin engaging in sexual acts when she was 15 and he was 19 years old.

In the previous case, Servin was charged with sexually assaulting a girl who was under the age of 13. The criminal complaint alleges the assault occurred after she met Servin to purchase THC vaping cartridges and he drove her to McQuillan Park.

The court document says a search of his Rochester home, a storage market registered in his name, and his vehicle led to the seizure of THC and nicotine vape cartridges, more than $7000 in cash and a .40 caliber Glock pistol that had been reported stolen in Robbinsdale.

He was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, receiving stolen property, and a felony drug count. His next court appearance in that case is next month. His first court appearance in the new criminal case is scheduled to take pace in July.
