Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday for the trial of a Rochester man accused of murdering a woman on Christmas Day two years ago.

Court documents indicate 80 potential jurors will be summoned to the Olmsted County Courthouse for possible service in the trial of 41-year-old Mustafa Rahshad Bush. A pretrial filing also indicates the judge in the case has granted a defense motion that prohibits the prosecution from mentioning or referencing his previous conviction for second-degree murder.

Bush is accused of fatally shooting 41-year-old Kimberly Robinson and then dumping her body in the ditch along a rural northwest Rochester road on December 26, 2022. The criminal charges alleges she was last seen alive in the company of Bush on Christmas Eve or in the early morning hours of Christmas Day in 2022.

The court documents state that investigators working on the homicide case learned that Bush had been living with Robinson at a residence in southeast Rochester during the two years preceding her death. The charges also indicate that investigators spoke with a family member who told them that Bush had confided in her that he had hurt his girlfriend.

Another witness told investigators they saw Bush loading a large and very heavy suitcase into his vehicle late Christmas night. The criminal complaint says investigators later found blood evidence in the vehicle, along with about a half-pound of cocaine.
