Last-Minute Plea Deal For Stewartville Man in Sex Misconduct Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Stewartville man's trial on sexual misconduct charges was canceled this morning when he entered into a last-minute plea agreement.
24-year-old Austin Fisher admitted to a third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in exchange for the dismissal of another third-degree charge, a fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charge, and a felony charge of soliciting a minor to engage in sexual conduct. He also faced a gross misdemeanor count of providing alcohol to a minor.
Fisher was accused of using his home as a hangout for underage girls and having sexual contact with at least three of them. The criminal complaint indicates the alleged victims were all under the age of 16.
The court record alleges there were "multiple allegations of sexual misconduct committed by, as well as the provision of alcohol and controlled substances to underage persons" by Fisher. It was alleged the illegal sexual conduct began in the winter of last year and continued through the summer months.
The complaint indicates Fisher told investigators he knew the ages of the girls who came to his home, but at that time he denied having sexual contact with any underage girls.
His trial was scheduled to get underway today and Olmsted County Court. He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 30.
