
Man Apprehended After Attacking Rochester Police Squad Car
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man was taken into custody late this morning after he allegedly attacked a Rochester police squad car.
Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers were dispatched to the intersection of 7th Avenue and 1st Street Southwest in downtown Rochester around 11:15 AM in response to a report of a man throwing rocks onto the street.

Grayson says the responding officers located the man near 5th Avenue and 1st Street Northwest near the Mayo Clinic West Employee Parking Ramp. She reported that, when a squad car approached the man, he jumped onto the hood of the vehicle and smashed the windshield before fleeing on foot.
Grayson indicated the man was apprehended a short distance away. He was transported to the St. Marys Hospital Emergency Department for evaluation. His name has not been released.
