That’s according to a news release issued by the western Iowa-based Cass County Sheriff’s Office Saturday evening. The first kidnapping report was received shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.

The caller said they were flagged by an individual who stated they were kidnapped in Lincoln, NE and forced to drive to Chicago at gunpoint. The victim was seen at an interchange about 55 miles east of Omaha, NE.

Officials say the kidnapping suspect then pointed a gun at a different vehicle, described to be a two-door silver Chevy pick-up, and got into the passenger seat. The driver of that vehicle is believed to be an older man in his 80’s.

Authorities are working to identify the second apparent kidnapping victim. Multiple agencies are working to find the pick-up and apprehend the armed suspect, the news release says.
