45-year-old Matthew Adamson of Rochester was charged in the first Rochester-area case last November as a result of an undercover sting investigation that was conducted by the Rochester Police Department

The criminal complaint in that cases alleges he attempted to solicit sexual acts from a girl he believed was 13 years old, who was actually an undercover officer.

The other local case accuses Adamson of recording and saving videos of several female detainees while they were changing their clothing in a changing room at the Olmsted County Jail.

The criminal complaint says the videos were discovered on two external hard drives during a search of his home several days after he was formally charged in the first case.

Former Olmsted County Deputy Indicted in Federal Child Porn Case

In a news release issued Monday, the U.S. The Attorney's Office for Minnesota announced that Adamson has been indicted for production and possession of child pornography and coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

Federal court documents accuse Adamson of producing child pornography and in some cases secretly recording 12 and 13 year old girls multiple times from 2015-2023.

The date of his next federal court appearance has not been announced.
