Minnesota COVID Hospitalizations Have Nearly Doubled This Month
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The latest COVID-19 statistics reported by Minnesota show the overall number of people hospitalized due to the new viral infection has almost doubled since the beginning of the month.
According to the state's COVID-19 Response website, a total of 658 people were hospitalized due to COVID-19 as of Monday. That is up about 91-percent when compared to the overall COVID-19 hospitalization total reported at the beginning of the month. 165 of the current COVID-19 patients are being treated in intensive care units. Both the overall number of people hospitalized and the ICU bed usage number are the highest since the beginning of the pandemic.
The Minnesota Department of Health today reported nearly 2200 new confirmed COVID-19 cases statewide, including 38 new cases in Olmsted County. State officials also reported an additional 15 coronavirus-related deaths throughout Minnesota.
