The Minnesota Department of Transportation has shut down the Highway 60 entrance to Wabasha due to the rising Mississippi River. The road is in a low-lying area that runs under a railroad bridge and was affected by high water earlier this morning. As the water became deeper, MNDOT was forced to close the road. A marked detour has been set up.

The Mississippi is still rising in the Wabasha area and could be two feet above flood stage by Sunday. That would raise the flooding situation in city to the moderate stage.

In the Lake City area, the river is now at flood stage and could rise another half foot there by Sunday.
