Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man will spend the rest of his life in prison for a murder he committed on Christmas Day in 2022.

A dog walker discovered the victim’s body in a ditch along a rural northwest Rochester road on Dec. 26, 2022. She was identified as 41-year-old Kimberly Robinson of Eyota

An autopsy indicated Robinson died from a fatal gunshot wound to her neck. Shortly after the body discovery, authorities arrested and charged 41-year-old Mustafa Bush in connection with Robinson’s death.

Rochester Man Sentenced for Christmas Murder of Eyota Woman

Court documents indicated the two had been living together for two years. Bush was charged with first-degree murder-premeditated, first-degree murder while committing domestic abuse with a past pattern of domestic abuse and second-degree murder.

In November, an Olmsted County jury convicted Bush of first-degree murder involving a pattern of domestic violence and second-degree murder with intent. The jurors acquitted him of first-degree murder with premeditation.

A first-degree murder conviction in Minnesota carries a sentence of life in prison. On Friday an Olmsted County Judge Sentenced Bush to life behind bars without parole. 

Court records indicate Bush was convicted of Second-degree murder in Olmsted County in 2007. He had served two-thirds of his prison sentence and was granted supervised release in March 2020.
