New Details Released in Destructive Rural SE Minnesota Fire
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Officials are releasing more information regarding a fire that destroyed a detached garage and other property at a rural southeast Rochester home Monday morning.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Lee Rossman said a deputy was the first emergency responder to arrive at the residence in the 4100 block of Maple Ct. Southeast. Neighbors called the fire at around 10 a.m.
Rossman said the garage was fully engulfed in flames upon law enforcement’s arrival. The deputy alerted the property owner to the blaze and evacuated her from the area.

Rochester firefighters then arrived to extinguish the flames. Rossman said a fire inspector also responded to the scene and determined the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
The fire is responsible for torching an estimated $125,000 in property. Rossman said the garage, an RV, 2017 Buick, livestock supplies and other property were lost in the blaze. No injuries were reported.
