Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Olmsted County Public Health has added some new features to its COVID-19 website to help those who test positive for the new coronavirus report their infection and notify those people with whom they have had close contact.

The Self-Reporting COVID-19 form includes a brief questionnaire designed to help public health officials understand how the virus is spreading in the community while clicking on the link to TellYourContacts.org provides an infected person with an easy way to anonymously reach their close contacts. Everyone listed will receive a text or email explaining everything they need to know about their potential exposure to the virus.

The new features were developed and added to the website in an effort to automate the contact tracing process because the surge in new COVID-19 cases has outpaced the ability of Olmsted County Public Health to perform in-depth contact tracing. Health officials are urging everyone who tests positive to fill out the forms and participate in the efforts to slow down the transmission of the coronavirus and reduce both the number of hospitalizations and coronavirus-related deaths.
