Sheriff’s Captain James Schuller said 33-year-old Chrysten Doney deposited a $437.21 check into her account last month. Investigators examined a copy of the check and found it had several misspellings.

Schueller says Doney is expected to face a felony charge for check forgery. He said the county is unable to recoup the money lost because Doney quickly spent the money deposited on food, hygiene products and other items available to inmates. Donely was booked into the Olmsted County jail in May on a warrant arrest.
