Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the two men charged in connection with a shooting in Rochester last year has pleaded guilty.

Court records show 23-year-old Dashaun Pittman entered into a plea agreement on Thursday and admitted to a felony charge for illegal possession of a firearm or ammunition. A second-degree assault dropped in exchange.

He and a Brooklyn Park man, 29-year-old Davoren Broussard, were arrested in March of last year after a 22-year-old man was driven to St. Marys Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to his leg. According to the criminal complaint, the victim told Rochester Police he was confronted by Pittman and Broussard outside a residence in the 600 block of Circle Court Southwest when Broussard pointed a gun at his face while threatening him, but he identified Pittman as the person who shot him in the upper thigh.

Pittman told investigators he was waving a gun around when it "accidentally went off." He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 4th.

Broussard is facing second-degree assault and a felony threats charge. He is scheduled to appear in court next month for an evidentiary hearing.
