Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner has identified the person found dead in a Rochester pond last month.

Rochester police responded to the small body of water after a person fishing reported finding the remains on the afternoon of April 25. 

The discovery was made in a pond north of Highway 52 and south of 30th Street SE, near the south Menards store.

Medical Examiner ID's Body Found in Southeast Rochester Pond as 43-Year-Old Man

The medical examiner identified the person found dead as 43-year-old Jeremy Jennings

Information released by Rochester police shortly after the discovery indicated the body was decomposing. 

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson said at the time that foul play was not suspected following a preliminary investigation.

Grayson also said police took a report on February 4 that Jennings may have overdosed on drugs somewhere in southeast Rochester.

Officers conducted a search of the area where his phone last pinged that night and conducted additional searches of the area using a K-9 and drone, Grayson said.
