Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - For the first time since 2012, the Rochester area made it through February without a below zero temperature.

The lowest temperature during the month was zero on the 9th. Ten days later, the official temperature at the Rochester airport climbed to 57 degrees - one of the warmest days ever in the month of February.

According to the National Weather Service, the month went into the books as the 6th warmest February on record with an average daily temperature of 27.6 degrees,which is nearly 7 ½ degrees above normal.

Only 2 tenths of an inch of snow fell during February- until last week when a storm dumped more than ten inches on the city. The monthly total of 10.4 inches was 2 inches above normal.
