Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Not one but two cold weather records have been set this week in Rochester.

The high temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday were the coldest on record for the dates - and the coldest for the first ten days of September.

Tuesday’s high was only 49 degrees. The previous record for the lowest maximum temperature for Sept. 8th was 58 degrees.

Wednesday’s high temperature was even colder at only 47 degrees. The previous lowest maximum temperature record for Sept 9th was 55 degrees.

As of Thursday morning, the last time it was 50 degrees or warmer in Rochester was 9:00 PM Monday.

Normal high temperatures this time of the year are in the low 70s and should return to the area Sunday.
