Rochester Man Convicted in Double Murder; Sentenced to Life
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was sentenced to life in prison on the second anniversary of the two killings he was charged with.
Sentenced Tuesday was 55-year-old Glenn Johnson.
He was charged with the fatal stabbings of 57-year-old Philip Hicks and 45-year-old Eric Flemmings on St. Patrick’s Day 2018. The attack took place in a hallway at the Castleview Apartments in downtown Rochester where the three men lived.
Johnson was prosecuted in a rare bifurcated or two-part trial.
An Olmsted County jury found him guilty of 1st degree murder in the first phase. It rejected his not-guilty-by-reason of mental illness in the second part. The trial was completed in just three days.
Johnson will not be eligible for parole.
