Rochester Man Ordered to Jail For Child Porn Conviction
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been ordered to serve a jail sentence for a child pornography conviction.
35-year-old Graeme Douglas Campbell was formally charged in February of this year after Rochester police completed a several month long investigation that was triggered by a tip concerning suspected child sexual abuse material discovered by Twitter or X. The criminal complaint says investigators traced the Google account associated with the cyber tip to Campbell.
The court document says a search warrant was executed at his home last December and led to the seizure of two cell phones and the discovery of more than 150 images and files depicting child sexual abuse. The criminal complaint indicates that one of the files shows the victim who appears to be an infant been sexually assaulted by an adult male.
According to the charges, Campbell admitted to investigators that he had been accessing child pornography through social media and other websites for several years. His statement also indicated that he admitted sending child sexual abuse material to other people.
He was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. Under a plea agreement reached several months ago, the entered guilty pleas to two of the charges.
Campbell was sentenced today in Olmsted County Court to 45 days in jail. He was also placed on supervised probation for five years and to register as a predatory offender.
