Prison Sentence For Rochester Man Convicted of Child Porn Charges
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to prison after admitting to multiple child pornography charges in a case investigators say involved the solicitation of minors for sexually explicit materials.
Plea Agreement Late Last Year
25-year-old Christian Santiago Duran-Ayala entered into a plea agreement last December and admitted to one count of dissemination of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. In exchange, another charge of possession of child pornography, three counts of using electronic communication to solicit sexual conduct from a child, and a single count of using minors in pornographic work were dismissed.
Headed to Prison
During a hearing in Olmsted County court this morning, Duran-Ayala was given concurrent prison sentences that total 51 months. He will also be on conditional release for 5 years after he completes his prison term.

Accused of Soliciting Children
According to court documents, Duran-Ayala was accused of soliciting dozens of sexually explicit videos from young girls. The criminal complaint in the case says investigators traced Internet accounts associated with a cyber tip to the Rochester man's residence, where a search warrant was executed.

Investigators Found Thousands of Messages
When interviewed by investigators, the charges say Duran-Ayala admitted that he possessed hundreds of files depicting children engaged in sexual acts on his electronic devices. The criminal complaint alleged that he used 5 accounts on the Kik messaging app to solicit child sexual abuse material and indicates investigators found more than 10,000 messages from his accounts in which he pretended to be a juvenile male.
Young Girls Solicited For Videos
It was alleged that Duran-Ayala sent photos to underage users and asked them to send him videos. Court documents say investigators found videos of girls as young as nine years old engaging in sexually explicit acts.
