Rochester Man Sentenced For ‘Execution-Style’ Murder
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the two men convicted of murder charges in connection with the "execution-style" shooting death of a Rochester man in 2019 was sentenced this afternoon.
25-year-old Ayub Iman was given a 27-year prison sentence for his involvement in the murder of 28-year-old Garad Roble. He was found guilty of a second-degree murder charge at the end of the trial that was held in Olmsted County Court in April.
The other Rochester man prosecuted in the case, 33-year-old Muhidin Abukar, entered into a plea agreement the day his trial was scheduled to begin last month and admitted to a second-degree murder charge. Abukar told the court it was Iman who actually shot the victim nearly a dozen times on a rural southeast Rochester road in the early-morning hours of March 5, 2019.
Abukar is scheduled to be sentenced on June 23rd. His plea agreement calls for a 166-month prison sentence.
