Summit Brewing Co. held a contest earlier this year, asking its fans on social media to help name the beer they'll be serving at this year's Minnesota State Fair, and one of our loyal listeners won!

Summit says the beer is a "full flavored, low cal, low carb, low ABV, American-Style IPA" and was chosen because it's perfect for a hot summer day. Summit's Head Brewer Damian McConn said, “it’s a beer people can enjoy while out at the Fair with friends and family, eating obscene amounts of delicious fried foods.”

The beer will be called “Mini-Sotan IPA”.  Seth Brantner of Rochester submitted the winning entry beating more than 200 other entries that were submitted during the contest period. For winning, Seth will get to be part of the brewing process and will get to taste the beer before anyone else.

During the State Fair, Summit Mini-Sotan IPA will be served exclusively at the Summit on a Stick Booth located in the Minnesota State Fair’s International Bazaar.
