Rochester Man’s Plea Deal Includes 6 Year Prison Sentence
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man, who was sent to prison for drug dealing eight years ago, will likely be sent to prison next week for another drug conviction.
Court records show 37-year-old Adam Kyle Thompson has a lengthy criminal history that includes the 2017 conviction for first-degree drug sale and a felony drug possession charge in 2023. He was also convicted of a felony fleeing police charge for a high-speed chase with Rochester police, which also occurred in 2023.
On Tuesday, Thompson entered into a plea agreement with Olmsted County prosecutors in another drug case. Court documents indicate he was arrested in December following a traffic stop in northwest Rochester.

The criminal complaint in the case says Thompson was a passenger in the vehicle and the officer involved in the traffic stop learned he was wanted on an active arrest warrant. A subsequent search of Thompson led to the discovery of nearly 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his pants and more than 320 grams of marijuana in a backpack.
Under the terms of his plea agreement, Thompson entered a guilty plea to the second-degree drug possession charge. He is scheduled to be sentenced next month, and the court document states that he and the prosecution have agreed to a 75 month prison term.

In the 2017 drug case, he was ordered to prison for 7 1/2 years.
