Court records indicate the suspect was charged earlier this year in a different assault that also involved a machete.

Man Charged for St. Patrick's Day Machete Attack at Downtown Rochester, MN Parking Ramp

Officers responded to the assault at the 6th St. Parking Ramp in downtown Rochester. Upon arrival they found the victim bleeding heavily from his forehead with a T-shirt wrapped around the wound, the complaint says.

He told police a man he did not recognize swung a machete at him while he was walking in the ramp. The court filing says a surveillance camera captured the attack and investigators were able to identify the alleged assailant as 38-year-old Anthony Nolan White

Investigators executed a search warrant at White’s home on Thursday and arrested him after finding a machete, the complaint says.

The victim needed seven stitches to seal the vertical wound on his forehead, according to the complaint. White is charged with one count of second-degree assault

White was charged with the same crime along with a fifth-degree assault count late last month following a machete attack at a home on Elton Hills Dr. in northwest Rochester.

The victim in that case suffered a laceration on his neck and was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to charges filed in that case.

White made his first court appearance in the parking ramp attack case on Monday and is being held on $100,000 bail. His name is not on the Olmsted County Jail roster as of Monday night.

He’s scheduled to make his first appearance in the Elton Hills assault case in June and is due back for the parking ramp assault case next month.
