Rochester Teen Bitten By Dog; Owner Being Sought

The Rochester Police Department is asking the public’s help in trying to locate the owner of a dog that bit a city teenager yesterday afternoon as he was walking home from school.

Police say the 14 year old boy was walking on the sidewalk in the area of 8th avenue and 13th street southeast around 3:30 when he was bitten.  The teen says a large black dog that was on a leash jumped at him as they passed each other and then bit him in the leg.

The dog was being walked by an older white man who may not have known the teen had been bitten.

The teen has already started rabies treatment  as a precaution.
