Rochester teen takes gun to school

A Rochester teenager got himself into hot water Friday after taking a gun to school

. Police were contacted by the principal of the school district’s Alternative Learning Center after the 22 caliber handgun was found in his backback.  The 14 year old initially got into hot water for apparently smoking marijuana on his school bus.  The principal was told and contacted the boy’s parents.  While in the principal’s office, the boy’s parents looked into his backpack and found the unloaded gun, bullets and  some drug paraphernalia.   It’s not known where the student obtained the gun.  His parents told police they don’t own any guns.  The teen was taken to the county’s juvenile detention center and is expected to face charges.
