There have been many reports about threats ahead of the premiere of the new Joker movie. Including this one from WCNC which says FBI investigators are keeping a close eye on the threat for a potential movie theater mass shooting.

To be clear, we are not aware on any threats made in our area, but one local movie theater has already addressed the issue and will prohibit costumes for that movie. The Cinemagic Hollywood 12 released the statement below on their Facebook page:

"Valued Patrons: While we do not comment on operating procedures or security protocols for obvious reasons please be advised for the coming movie "Joker" we will not be allowing employees nor patrons to dress up as Joker for the movie. The reason for this is many of those costumes would involve face paint that couldn't be removed at our request for identification purposes. We believe strongly in having events which often involve great times with costumed characters but we also have to balance that with the safety of our patrons and employees as well. We greatly appreciate your understanding."
