With only a week to go before the election, it wasn't surprising that politics was the focus of Tuesday's Rochester Today show with Tom Ostrom and Andy Brownell on KROC-AM.

The studio phone line rang off the hook with calls from people wanting to voice an opinion about the race for U.S. Senate between Democrat Al Franken and Republican Mike McFadden. Most were critical of the incumbent, and many seemed incredulous that Minnesota voters appear on the verge of sending Franken back to Washington D.C. for another six-year term.

The race for the First District Congressional seat was also on the callers' radar, with the focus being on Congressman Tim Walz's membership on on a key committee involved with the oversight of the Veterans Affairs Department and the recent scandals that have plagued the agency.
