Second Man Admits to Role in Rochester Assault and Robbery
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is scheduled to be sentenced in April for his involvement in what police termed a gun-related robbery. 25-year-old Steven Voeun this week entered a guilty plea to a felony simple robbery charge through a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of 3 other felonies, including first-degree aggravated robbery and 2nd-degree assault.
The charges against Voeun indicated he participated in an assault on a 23-year-old man during a social gathering at a residence in northwest Rochester the night of March 10th. The victim told police he was robbed of several hundred dollars and one of his attackers pointed a rifle at him. The police reports on the incident indicated Voeun was suspected of being the person with the gun.
Another man charged in the case, 24-year-old Emanuel Alfred, was earlier found guilty of first-degree aggravated robbery and other charges and was sentenced to 6 ½ years in prison. Alfred’s criminal history includes an attempted murder conviction in 2010 when he was 16-years-old.
