Sheriff: Chanhassen Murder Victim Found by His Parents
Chanhassen, MN (KROC-AM News) - Carver County officials say the parents of a murder victim discovered him lying on the floor in the garage area of a home in Chanhassen Friday afternoon.
A statement from the Carver County Sheriff's Office says the evidence indicated the 33-year-old St. Paul man was the victim of a violent assault. He was pronounced dead at the scene after his parents called 911 and immediately attempted to perform CPR.
The news release says investigators identified a person of interest in the case and later found the individual dead at a residence in Minneapolis. The names of the victim and the person of interest have not been released.
The Sheriff's Office says the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death in the Chanhassen case, while the Hennepin County Medical Examiner performed the autopsy on the person of interest.
Officials say it appears it was an isolated incident and there is no evidence suggesting further danger to the public. The Chanhassen crime scene is located in a townhome development that caters to car collectors that feature oversized garages
