Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 25-year-old man from a small town in southern Minnesota Lea has been sentenced to more than 25 years in prison for child sexual abuse.

The 306-month prison term was handed today to Elijah Berryman of Myrtle. He earlier entered guilty pleas to four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a young boy.

The criminal complaint indicates Berryman admitted sexually abusing the child beginning when he was 16 or 17 years old and the victim was six or seven years old. His statement to investigators indicates he confessed to approximately "12 separate incidents in the year and a half of sexual conduct."

The victim told investigators he was around 8 years old and Berryman was 18.

Berryman was given credit for the 401 days he has already spent in jail.
