(UPDATE) Standoff at Rochester Motel is Over
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A standoff at a Rochester motel ended peacefully Monday evening.
A Rochester Police Department news release says the situation was resolved around 8 PM when members of the department’s Emergency Response Unit entered a room at the Extended Stay America Motel and took a man into custody without the use of force. A woman in the same room as the man was unharmed.
The situation began about 5 hours earlier when Rochester Police were called to the motel on Woodlake Drive Southeast near the South Broadway and Highway 52 interchange to deal with a domestic incident involving a person in crisis. The news release says the initial report indicated the man was agitated and possibly armed, with a woman inside the room with him on the second floor of the hotel.
The news release says the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police are at the scene of what is being described as a domestic incident involving a potentially armed person in crisis.
The situation is taking place at the Extended Stay America Motel on Wood Lake Drive Southwest at the southeast corner of the South Broadway and Highway 52 interchange. The public is being urged to stay away from the area.
Very little information has been released, but there is a heavy police presence at the scene, including the Rochester Police Emergency Response Unit.
