
Chaos at Minnesota Mall: Suspect Chases Officers with Metal Winch
A 31-year-old was arrested Friday night and is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening shoppers and attacking an officer inside a Minnesota mall.
According to reports, a scary and tense situation played out Friday night at the mall when the suspect allegedly began harassing customers and later chased a group of officers with a metal winch. Read the full report below.

Suspect Arrested After Threatening Customers, Attacking Officer in Minnesota Mall
City officials posted an update on its Facebook page explaining what happened inside the mall on Friday night and what the suspect was charged with.
The incident occurred inside River Hills Mall, known for its carousel, near the food court. Public Safety officials say they began receiving calls around 8:00 PM on Friday reporting that a man was "threatening mall patrons and security staff."

According to the report, a security officer at the Mall tried to defuse the situation but was attacked by the suspect. Then the 31-year-old started chasing officers with a makeshift weapon.
At that point, the suspect took a metal winch from security that was being used to close mall gates. The suspect began chasing security officers with it.
Several Mankato Public Safety Officers responded to the scene and were able to capture the suspect. The guard who was assaulted suffered minor injuries, but thankfully, no one else was hurt.
The suspect was booked into the Blue Earth County Jail and is facing several potential charges, including second-degree assault, and criminal harassment.
