Suspect Sought For Multiple Vehicle Thefts

Investigators for the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department are still piecing together what happened in the Oronoco area Monday afternoon.

Reports indicate a man suspected of several vehicle thefts managed to elude arrest after leading authorities on a chase.

Those reports included a crash involving a stolen car, a man running across Highway 52 without shoes, an attempted break-in at an Oronoco home and the theft of a vehicle from a man working on the solar array project next to the Peoples Energy Cooperative headquarters.

That vehicle was later abandoned near where a third vehicle theft was reported.
