The Emerald Ash Borer Spread is Worse Than Expected
That was the word this morning from Ellen Pesek, the Forestry Coordinator for the city of Rochester.
On KROC AM this morning, she said the emerald ash borer has been spreading much faster than they originally thought, and if you want to keep your ash tree, plan on having it treated or cut it down because otherwise it will die.
The southern end of town is the worst.
She said treatment is the best way to go. You'll need it done every other year, so check with a couple of different arborists because prices may vary. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than cutting down the tree!
