Critiquing your own thinking was the topic on Monday's Power of Learning Show with Jim Walters and Andy Brownell on KROC-AM.

Jim joins Andy on the fourth Monday of every month on Rochester Today to discuss ways to improve your life and our society with critical thinking.

It's fairly difficult to practice critical thinking without first examining and critiquing the way you think. The show started out with Andy and Jim identifying and talking about examples where the lack of critical thinking has led to ill-fated decisions.

Jim also offered some suggestions and exercises that can be used to improve your thinking in situations where it is often difficult to restrain the "primal mind." It becomes very easy to make poor decisions when you're put on the defensive or find yourself in a stressful situation that could have a significant impact on your career or personal life.

You can find a list of suggestions and methods for improving your ability to think critically at Jim's website.
