CHASKA, Minn. (AP) — Police say the victims in a double-shooting in Chaska are the suspect's father and the suspect's former girlfriend.

Officers arrived at the home around 9:30 p.m. to find the 60-year-old father down in the front yard with multiple wounds and the 29-year-old ex-girlfriend inside the home with a neck wound.

A police statement Friday says both victims are in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center but are expected to survive.

Police say the woman lived at the home with her parents and her 4-year-old son. They say the suspect had returned the child to the home after a visit, and that the suspect's father accompanied them.

Authorities arrested 38-year-old Joshua Gilpin around 11:30 a.m. Friday at a home in Jordan where he lived with his parents from time to time.
