Fiery Rollover Crash Causes Hwy. 52 Back-up Near Pine Island
Pine Island, MN (KROC-AM News)- A fiery rollover crash backed up traffic on Hwy. 52 in Goodhue County Wednesday evening.

The crash happened while a light snowfall created slick travel conditions that led to more than 550 crashes across Minnesota. Dispatch was alerted to the crash in the Pine Island area around 5:50 p.m.
The Pine Island Fire Department says crews responded to the crash, which appeared to have been on southbound Hwy. 52 based on photos from the scene, on the southern edge of Pine Island after being made aware a vehicle involved in a rollover crash had started on fire.
Driver & Passenger Escape Vehicle Fire Triggered by Rollover Crash on Hwy. 52 Near Pine Island, MN
Fire crews were told the vehicle had rolled several times and that the occupants had escaped the pick-up before it became fully engulfed in flames.
Upon arrival firefighters extinguished the vehicle fire. The two occupants who escaped were evaluated by an ambulance crew at the scene and treated for minor injuries, the Pine Island Fire Department says.
The names of the occupants have not been released. The traffic backup on Hwy. 52 was nearly one mile long during the incident, officials say.
There were also three minor collisions that occurred while emergency responders were at the scene of the vehicle fire. No injuries were reported from those crashes.
The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol and Berg’s Towing also responded to the rollover and fire.
