Wounded Kasson Police Officer Remains in Critical Condition
Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department says a shooting last weekend involving a Kasson Police Officer is being investigated as an attempted suicide.
Sheriff Scott Rose today identified the officer as 51-year-old Julio Baez, who has been a member of the Kasson Police Department since 2004. He remains listed in critical condition at St. Marys Hospital.
Office Baez was airlifted to Rochester last Saturday morning after a citizen found him in a grassy area next to a residential subdivision in rural Mantorville. At the time, Sheriff Rose indicated he was suffering from what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
