St. Paul Fire Medics responded to assist in aiding the shooting victims, some of whom were transported to a hospital by private vehicles. One adult male was pronounced dead at the scene and another adult male was pronounced dead at United Hospital after arriving there by private vehicle.

Officials say one man is in critical condition at Regions Hospital due to gunshot wounds and one woman also shot at the scene is in stable condition at Regions Hospital. A fifth gunshot victim, described as an adult female, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police say the initial investigation indicated the shooting occurred in the parking lot after a celebration of life even that had many attendants. Investigators believe the shots rang out after an altercation occurred.

Authorities are investigating the events that led up to the deadly shooting. No motive has been determined, however St. Paul police do not believe the shooting was random. No arrests have been made and no names have been released.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to identify the fatal gunshot victims and determine their official cause of death. The shooting marks St. Paul’s fourth and fifth homicides of 2023.
