Homeless Man Wanted for Knife-Point Robbery in Rochester, MN

The victim reported a man, later identified as 40-year-old Wesley Adam Riley, approached him near the unnamed southwest Rochester business and demanded the victim tell him where his bike was.

Riley then brandished a knife, approached the victim and grabbed the victim’s backpack after the victim said he didn’t know anything about Riley’s bike, the warrant alleges.

The victim told Rochester police Riley said he would return the backpack when he got his bike back and that Riley made threatening gestures with the knife when the victim tried to get his backpack back, the complaint says.

A wallet, bank cards, two phones and a flashlight belonging to the victim were inside of the backpack, according to the warrant.

Riley and the victim had known each other for about a year prior to the alleged robbery. The victim said Riley accused him of stealing his bike two months before the robbery report, the court document says.
