Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department is investigating a series of what are believed to be race-based burglaries.

Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says the home break-ins were reported between Nov. 13 and Dec. 3. Three of the five burglaries have been reported since Thanksgiving. 

Grayson says all of the victims are Asian members of the community. The victims reported coming home at the end of the day to find their homes, most of which are located in northwest Rochester, ransacked.

Police Investigating Break-ins Targeting Asian Members of the Rochester, MN Community

Grayson said the victims reported cash, jewelry, passports and other valuable items stolen. A news release issued by the police department says most of burglaries involved forced entry through a door or window. 

Police say the series of break-ins were reported at the following locations: 

Nov. 13-  2700 block of Kenosha Ln. Northwest 

Nov. 28- 3600 block of Nottingham Dr. Northwest 

Dec. 2-  2700 block of Boulder Ridge Dr. Northwest 

Dec. 3- 4300 block of Fern Ave. Southeast 

Dec. 3- 1400 block of 48th St. Northwest 

So far no arrest or arrests have been reported. The news release says investigators are reviewing evidence and are working to identify the suspect or suspects. 

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or has knowledge of the burglaries is asked to come forward by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting rochesterolmstedcrimestoppers.org. Tips can be shared anonymously.
