Attendance Boundary Changes on Agenda for Rochester School Board

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester School Board could vote tonight on proposed adjustments to the school district attendance boundaries. The changes are designed to address overcrowding in some schools, particularly in northwest Rochester, by shifting students to buildings that have a bit more room while the school district continues to study and prepare for the possible addition of another elementary school in the future.

When the changes were first proposed in January, the school district indicated about 150 families would be impacted. Since then, a second option has been developed for the school board to consider that would eliminate changes affecting the middle school boundaries. The school board also has a third option, which would be to leave the attendance boundaries unchanged for the next school year.
