Kenyon Man Charged for Bloody Bar Stool Attack at Downtown Rochester Bar
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office has filed a complaint connected to an assault reported at a Rochester bar earlier this year.

Court documents allege the attack occurred in May. The criminal complaint was filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday.
The charges say Rochester police responded to the result at an undisclosed bar in downtown Rochester around 2 a.m. on May 5.
Complaint: Kenyon, MN Man Attacked Man with Bar Stool at Downtown Rochester Bar
A responding officer saw a disturbance break out and a bar stool being thrown through the establishment’s front door. A man at the scene told the officer he had been hit over the head with a wood and metal bar stool, the complaint says.
He also reported being punched in the head multiple times. Blood was coming from the victim’s head and he was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of a large cut on his head, according to the court filing.
Police identified the suspected assailant as 24-year-old Nathan Ray Veal Cox of Kenyon. Multiple witnesses told officers they saw Cox hit the man over the head with a bar stool, the complaint says.
Cox was detained at the scene and later released, the court document indicates. He has been charged with one count of felony second-degree assault.
The Goodhue County man is due to make his first court appearance next month.
