Minnesota Bicyclist Suffers Severe Injuries in Crash With SUV at Hwy. 61 Intersection
Wyoming, MN (KROC-AM News)- A bicyclist is fighting for his life after a crash with a vehicle at an eastern Minnesota intersection.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the collision shortly after 8:00 Thursday evening. The vehicle involved was an SUV.
The State Patrol says the collision occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and 264th St. in Wyoming.
The bike was attempting to cross the two lane highway from west to east at the intersection, according to the crash investigation.
It was subsequently struck by the southbound SUV, despite the vehicle driver’s attempt to swerve to avoid hitting the bike, the state crash report says.
Authorities identified 46-year-old Tony Doyle Lachapelle of Harris, MN as the bicyclist.
He was taken to a hospital with what are being described as life-threatening injuries. Lachapelle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, the state report says.
Officials described the SUV driver as a 72-year-old man from Stacy, MN. Information regarding his name and medical condition is set to be released on Friday afternoon.
