Blizzard Conditions Contribute to Hundreds of Crashes

The State Patrol is reporting there have been hundreds of traffic crashes throughout Minnesota since the arrival of a fast moving clipper storm this morning.

One of the crashes, a multi-vehicle wreck involving a semi-truck near St Cloud, killed the mother of three children and forced authorities to close a section of I-94 for several hours. In this region, four people from Rochester were transported to St. Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries in a rollover crash on I-90 near Dexter. The State Patrol says the injured included an infant boy and a 4-year-old girl.

The storm brought some light snow and freezing drizzle to this region, but areas of western Minnesota saw over 6 inches of snow and blizzard conditions.
