Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - A young child suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run incident this afternoon in Austin.
Police Searching for Dark-Colored Passenger Car
According to the Austin Police Department, the 10-year-old victim was riding a bicycle that was hit by a vehicle around 3:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of 4th Avenue Southeast near Ellis Middle School. A news release indicates the suspect vehicle was a dark-colored passenger car that likely has front-end damage on the passenger side.
Child Seriously Injured in Austin Hit-and-Run
The statement says the driver left the scene before officers arrived and found the 10-year-old victim. Austin police officers and Austin firefighters administered medical care to the child before the victim was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance. Information about the bicyclist's medical condition is not available.
