Closing Arguments and Deliberations Next in Rochester Murder Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Jury deliberations are scheduled to begin tomorrow in a Rochester murder case.
The defense rested its case today after calling 26-year-old Alexander Weiss to the witness stand, where he testified he was acting in self-defense when he shot and fatally wounded 17-year-old Muhammed Rahim. The deadly shooting occurred in January of last year during a confrontation that followed a traffic crash at the corner of East River Road and 31st Street Northeast.
The prosecution wrapped up its case last week in Weiss' second trial on the second-degree murder charge. His first trial for the fatal shooting earlier this year was declared a mistrial after the jury found itself deadlocked.
