Deputies Wrestle Rochester Man Away from Stolen RV
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man was booked into jail after being wrestled away from an RV that was reported stolen.
That’s according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin, who said deputies responded to the report of an RV that was parked at a rural northeast Rochester storage complex that did not belong there.
Deputies responded to the call around 12:15 p.m. Saturday. The RV was located at the storage complex at the intersection of North Broadway and 48th St. Northeast.
Parkin said responding deputies found the 1979 Winnebago RV was parked in the storage complex and hooked up to a generator. Deputies waited for back-up then approached the RV after observing signs of someone being inside of it.
After conversing with the suspect for a few minutes he emerged from the RV and was informed he was under arrest. Parkin said the man, identified as 46-year-old Jeremy Kirkham of Rochester, began to resist arrest attempts.
He was apprehended after a brief struggle. Kirkham was arrested on suspicion of felony receiving stolen property and misdemeanor obstruction of the legal process.
Parkin said the RV was reported stolen from Watson recycling. Deputies returned the vehicle to the site following Kirkham’s arrest.
