Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police have released some additional information concerning the fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon at a mobile home park near Longfellow Elementary School.

Officials say two men were shot while playing basketball in a street at the Parkside Estates Mobile Home Park along Marion Road Southeast around 2:15 p.m. One of the men, a black male, was pronounced dead at the scene while the second shooting victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound on his leg.

Police are looking for a Hispanic male, possibly around 6 foot tall with a thin build. A spokesman says the man was seen running from the crime scene with a red bandanna covering his face.

Rochester School District officials indicated the nearby elementary school was placed on lockdown for about an hour following the shootings. Classes continued uninterrupted and a modified dismissal procedure was used to ensure the safety of the students and staff at the end of the school day.
