
Elgin Woman Critically Injured in Four-Vehicle Crash That Shut Down Rochester-Area Highway
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- One of two southeast Minnesota drivers injured in a crash that shut down a Rochester-area highway is fighting for her life.

That’s according to the State Patrol, which says four vehicles were involved in the collision. The drivers were the only occupants of those vehicles.
The crash happened shortly before 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.

Hwy. 63 Crash Leads to Severe Injuries for Elgin Woman
The four-vehicle crash happened near the roundabout intersection of Hwy. 63 and 18th Ave. NW north of Rochester.
An eastbound Subaru was stopped waiting to make a left turn into a driveway.
A Chevy Equinox was stopped behind the Subaru and a Chevy Silverado was stopped behind the Equinox.

An eastbound Chevy Suburban then crashed into the Silverado, according to the state crash report.
62-year-old Kathryn Marie Grobe of Elgin was identified as the Suburban driver. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital, the State Patrol says.
Lake City Woman Also Hurt
23-year-old Kylee Angell Voorhees was driving the Equinox. The State Patrol says the Lake City woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also brought to St. Mary’s Hospital.
The two other drivers were not hurt. All four motorists were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state crash report says.
The Rochester Fire Department, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Air Care and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash. Hwy. 63 was closed for about three hours.
